Photo contest captures images of Missouri  staff
Updated: 2014-03-27 09:08:47
A photo contest celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources has been announced. Entries will be judged on subject matter, composition, artistry, drama and technical excellence. All photos must be taken in Missouri, including within the Missouri state park system; a description of the 87 parks may be found here. The deadline to submit photographs is at the end of August 1, 2014.

Open to all amateur photographers with no age restrictions (parental permission form is required for minors), the contest is divided into three categories:

  • Natural Resources - take a photo of Missouri's air, landscapes and waterways

  • Special Places - capture a shot of one of Missouri's 87 parks and historic sites

  • People and the Environment - include a photo of people enjoying Missouri's natural and cultural resources

Two unique photographs may be submitted per category with a maximum of six total entries. Each photo must be documented with the photographer's name, contact information, photo caption and address or location shown. For an entry form and sample photos go here.

Photos may be submitted through the department's website here or sent by mail to: MissouriDNR Photo Contest, P.O. Box 176, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

If selected as one of 10 semifinalists in each category, he or she will be required to submit a high resolution electronic file. First, second and third place winners will have their work featured in the winter 2015 issue of Missouri Resources magazine, displayed in the Lewis and Clark Office Building and showcased throughout the department.
