Your readers might be interested in an article here in which the Pea Ridge School district in Arkansas is banning the attendance of three siblings, two of whom have disabilities, until they prove they have not been tested HIV-positive. The decision based on not allowing students to come to school with communicable diseases came after the school superintendent, Rick Neal, consulted a lawyer.
While HIV has not been proven to be communicable and while children with disabilities under law have a right to attend school, the superintendent is standing his ground.
