Updated: 2014-09-24 07:32:54
Annies Project II: Women Marketing Grain & Livestock will be offered from 6-9 p.m. on November 4, 6, 11, and 13, 2014, at the Barton County Extension office. The course is targeted towards farm women and women landowners. The fee for the course is $60 for materials and speaker fees. To register, contact Jill Scheidt at the Barton County Extension Center, (417) 682-3579.

This Annies Project II course is the second phase of Annies Project. It is focused solely on grain and livestock marketing. The goal of this program is to increase farm womens knowledge about agriculture marketing terminology, commodity marketing channels, contracts, calculating specific hedge problems, and using options.

Annies Project, a comprehensive educational program and support network for farm women, began in Illinois. She was a farm wife who grew up in Northern Illinois who married a farmer and spent her lifetime learning how to be an involved business partner. Together they did great things, but it was not easy.
