It's time for a Teddy Bear picnic staff
Updated: 2016-06-14 21:32:58
Humans and their fuzzy companions are invited to a Teddy Bears' Picnic from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jul. 10, 2016. The free event will take place in the tree-shaded areas around the Great Lawn at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic, Springfield. At 1 p.m. the singing of the Teddy Bears' Picnic song will take place.

Featured will be music, games, bouncing bear blankets, along with picnic food and popsicles.

"There might even be honey," suggested Peter Longley, horticultural interpreter for the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center and Gardens. "There may be as many shapes and sizes of bears at this party as...breeds of dog at 'Bark in the Park,'" another event scheduled for June 18.

In order to get a food count those wishing to attend need to R.S.V.P. by July 6, 2016. Fill out the form here.
