| Main Avenue between College and Water streets in Springfield will be closed beginning 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, for construction work associated with the Main Avenue Streetscape project. This stretch of Main Avenue is expected to reopen Friday, May 6, 2016.
The streetscape project will provide a bicycle track, sidewalks, new storm system, curb and gutter, rain gardens, lighting enhancements and a connection to the new City Utilities Bus Transfer Station.
Funding for the project is from the Transportation Alternatives Grant Program and the voter-approved -cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax Center City Development Program. The contractor for the project is Hunter Chase and Associates. Go Back |
