Tree preservation is funded staff

Two Southwest Missouri communities have received grant funding during 2015 from the Missouri Dept. of Conservation. The city of Joplin has received $25,000 for tree inventory needs and the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center has received $18,754 for tree inventory needs and education. In total 42 applicants across the state received a total of $404,352 in TRIM grants. "These grants help recipients accomplish activities that keep their neighborhood trees healthy and thriving, including inventory, pruning, planting and educational programs," MDC Forestry Management Chief Justine Gartner said.
