Vietnam vets to be memorialized staff
Updated: 2015-02-17 14:23:18
This is a rendition of the Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial that will be dedicated on the campus of the College of the Ozarks on Wednesday, Apr. 22, 2015. It will be located near the entrance to the campus and will be inscribed with the names of more than 1400 Missourians who served and died during the Vietnam War. Missouri state legislators made College of the Ozarks the official site for the memorial with Senate Concurrent Resolution 43, which was adopted the last day of the 2014 session. Designed by Austin Meyer, a 2014 graduate and constructed by students and staff, the memorial will have the names engraved on two walls separated by a statue of Vietnam veterans. A flower bed in the shape of the letter V for valor will display red flowers, representing the blood shed by these Missouri soldiers.
