Updated: 2013-09-08 11:58:06
Members of the Springfield Police Department, assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrols Air and Patrol Units, conducted an Operation Safe Ride enforcement effort Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. Operation Safe Ride is an enforcement effort targeting hazardous moving violations that pose a threat to motorcycle operators in Springfield.

Officers stopped a total of 68 motorists during the operation. A total of 36 citations and 43 warnings were issued for various moving and non-moving violations. Two arrests were made for outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

The operation was funded by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation. The Springfield Police Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol want to remind drivers to be vigilant and to watch for motorcycle riders operating on our roadways.
