Slide the city shunn
Updated: 2016-06-06 15:02:32

With the visit of Slide the City the heart of downtown Springfield on July 16, 2016, will be transformed into the biggest block party of the summer. A long slide will be in place from Park Central Square down Boonville hill.

We are beyond excited to be coming to Springfield for the first time, said Spencer Hunn, Slide the City co-owner. We hope everyone will come out to have a blast and remember what its like to be a kid again!

Because of its uniqueness, the massive event is bigger and better than the average block party. Staring at 9 a.m., families, friends and neighbors are invited to take a break from the heat, speeding through the city on inner tubes. Along with the one-of-a-kind slide, the block party will include food, music, and local vendors.

Online registration is available. Participants may purchase a single ride, half-day or full-day slider pass during a selected wave time and are encouraged to sign up here to take advantage of the current rate. Pricing ranges from $15-$120. All those over 5 years of age and 46 inches tall are welcome to slide.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Downtown Springfield Association and for Route 66 projects as coordinated by the city of Springfield.
