Maple Leaf Parade vendors should apply early nmyers
Updated: 2014-04-04 16:35:30
The Carthage Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting applications for Maple Leaf Festival vendors. Art/craft vendors will be able to sell handcrafted items on the historic Carthage square before, during and after the Maple Leaf Parade on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. Concessions will be available on the south side of the square.

Booth space is not guaranteed for returning vendors. In categories that limit the number of similar vendors allowed, all registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and spaces reserved accordingly. Spaces will be reserved in the order completed application packets are received with payment. If accepted, returning vendors will be given preference in booth placement until July 1.

Parade applications and regulations also are available. Festival Chairperson Jeanine Poe says, We hope that parade entrants will once again embrace traditional floats that show off this years theme Crossroads of America. We have so much fun with the classic float elements and decorations that the Maple Leaf Car Show has once again pledged a $250 cash prize to the best traditional float entry.

Based largely on vendor feedback, the Festival committee has decided not to offer the Maple Market area for commercial vendors in 2014. Instead goodie bags will be prepared and distributed to visitors. To place your product/contact information in 500 of those bags for $50, contact the Carthage Chamber office.

Forms are available online. Art/craft and food vendor space fills up quickly. Electricity on the square is given first to concessions. Artists'/crafters requests for electricity are filled on a case by case basis. Water also will be available on a very limited basis this year, most likely to early applicants.
