Arrests were made at recent sobriety checkpoint l-cox
Updated: 2015-08-17 14:34:20
A recent sobriety checkpoint by the Springfield Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff's Office was held at Campbell Avenue and Bennett Street. Of the 481 motorists that were contacted, five drivers were arrested for driving while intoxicated, one was arrested for a warrant and one was arrested for possession of drugs. Two people also were charged for driving without a license. The checkpoint was funded through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation, Division of Highway Safety.

Consequences of drunk driving include jail time, loss of driving privileges, sentencing to use ignition interlocks and increased insurance rates. Financial losses include attorney fees, court costs, lost time at work and the potential loss of a job.
