Eighteen college graduates, five of them with associate degrees were part of the graduating class of the 65th Springfield Police Academy. Ceremonies were held on June 26, 2015, at the Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield. The class included 18 males and two females. Five of them had prior military experience, one was previously Class A POST-certified.

The 20 graduates underwent 1,019 hours of intense law enforcement training encompassing 24 weeks. Nineteen graduates will experience 13-weeks of on-the-job training with an experienced field-training officer before being assigned to the Springfield Police Department's Uniform Operations Bureau. One of the graduates will return to the Springfield Fire Department for additional training for his new position as a fire marshall.
